1980s classic movies to play in Bogota cinemas

1980s movies in Bogota cinemasE.T. and Elliott, Shermer High’s Brat Pack, and Maverick and Iceman will return to the big screen this month in the fifth season of Cinemark Classics.

Cinemas across Colombia will be showing E.T., The Breakfast Club and Top Gun in English with Spanish subtitles to celebrate 1980s classic anglophone cinema.

Steven Spielberg’s E.T will screen on July 29 while John Hughes’ coming of age tale, The Breakfast Club, will come to life again 20 years later on August 5.

The season ends with Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer soaring through Miramar’s skies in Top Gun on August 12.

The remastered HD films will screen in Bogota at Atlantis, Floresta, San Rafael and Plaza Imperial cinemas.

Keep an eye on the Cinemark website for details on the next season – the one in May screened Rocky, Back to the Future, Scarface, The Exorcist, Pretty Woman and The Terminator – so no doubt there’s plenty to look forward to.
